Staying The Course

Often we as creators feel like what we are doing isn’t ALLLLLL THAT or that it’s easy to do because we can do it. In order for me to conceptualize the amount of physical and mental work that I dedicate to my creative endeavors I decided to document one of my projects from inception to end and I was successful.

The Dexter’s Laboratory project allowed me to see how much effort it takes me to practice my songs, record, them and come up with a cool way to present it to the masses. Nevertheless I saw how I could implement joy in my process. Too often I know I just would like to skip to the “good” part and I didn’t stop often enough to appreciate the journey it takes to get there. For me my joy is learning or trying something new or mastering a new concept. Sure I have to revisit old concepts along the way to make sure I haven’t forgotten but it’s similar to building a Lego masterpiece brick by brick.

Don’t forget to check-in with yourself (creative or not) to see how you can insert joy in the process, hold your self accountable to see it through and allow yourself to experience the happiness that comes with it!

Watch my process either on Tiktok or Instagram!
